My friend runs this hosting company and was telling me that he was super stoked to support ruby.
I had no clue about this and he said that it was a "readable" language or something??? What's up with that? He also said it was developed in japan.
Also what are the advantages of ruby? Like lets say that I wanted to build high traffic site with lots of database calls, would ruby be a good choice? Does ruby even do websites or database stuff?
I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about....please lend some wisdom

Re: So what's the deal with ruby?
Thu, June 23, 2005 - 7:12 AMRuby on Rails is totally the big thing right now, mostly because it's a nice simple framework for getting things done with a database and the web that seems to hold up pretty well under the load.
It's almost like Python, but I tend to like Ruby more than Python because the language is a little simpler, but in a really sophisticated sort of way.
I generally tell people "It's big in Japan, kinda like Spinal Tap"
